Intelligent & Computational Robotic Devices for
Humanoid-Centric Wearable Applications
Workshop at HUMANOIDS 2018 Conference
Organizers:
Jia PAN (CityU, HK), Chaoyang SONG (SUSTec),
Yan HUANG (BIT), Qining WANG (PKU),
Zheng WANG (HKU)
Objectives:
Robotics for human-centric and wearable applications is a quickly-emerging research field with a wide range of potential applications. Technologies developed in humanoid robotics have been applied to domestic robots, social robots, human-robot interaction and wearable devices like prostheses and exoskeletons.
With the quick and widespread penetration of human-centered and wearable devices, demands on systematic understandings of the characterization, modeling, and performance quantification/prediction also quickly arise. This naturally results in rapidly-growing interests in the computational and intelligent aspects of robotic devices in general, towards human-centric and wearable applications.
This workshop gathers speakers of diverse expertise, from computational mechanics, to wearable robotics, artificial intelligence, and to ergonomics. By bringing together voices and wisdom of diverse disciplines, we hope to exchange ideas and stimulate sparkles, which would fruit into new frontiers and new insights of theory, analysis, experimentation plan, and potential applications.Topics of interest (including but not limited to):
- Modeling and intelligent control of robots for human-centric applications
- Robotic devices for walking assistance
- Intelligent materials for wearable applications
- Soft robots for wearable applications
- Wearable devices for elderly fall prevention
- Wearable sensors
- Human-robot interaction
- Human motion analysis
